LOOK at Us!
That’s the general idea anyway. We’re really in business now – a farm name, a logo, and signs at the end of the drive. Now if only the clouds would rain we’d have some vegetables to sell! In the meantime, we have a ton of people to thank.
Many huge thanks to Brad Farris, of Chicago’s Anchor Advisors, for the small business advice and for babysitting me on the multitude of start-up tasks I wasn’t achieving. Thanks to the beautiful, Barbie-esque Susan Ripka for the gorgeous logos and the many re-takes. Thanks to Jon Boyd, without whom there would be no circlemfarm.com and no beautiful Lucy. Thanks to Andrew Snyder, who found time to help me choose graphic art while running the Chicago Olympic Committee’s successful bid to be America’s nomination. Thanks, Garden To Be, for the organic market farm apprenticeship. Thanks to Fast Signs for being exactly what they say they are. And love to all the friends who evaluated logo designs, read the fledgling blog and raved enough about our meat to encourage us to make farming an occupation.

And thank you for stewarding the land and sharing its goodness — in food, friends, and wisdom — with us!

Hey,
Great going! The website is really cool. And what you have going on at the homestead is making me more than a little jealous. The only “agri” thing I’ve done lately is to grow about 350 assorted herbs in my basement and tiny greenhouse. I donated them to the Master Gardener’s Plant Sale. I also did a compost seminar at the sale and a capacity crowd of seven people showed up. I’ve been sending out resumes to everyone I can think of. Do you need a good hand at the farm? I guess I can always fall back to my “sure thing”, yodeling.
Take care,
Scott

Well, we could sure use a yodeller around here to get the dogs home and round up the ever-escaping goats. And someone who enjoys maintaining electric fencing. Boy, wish I’d been at your plant sale. I missed my opportunity to seed herbs this year, as I was heavy into lambing, and now I’ll be stuck buying them from a nursery. Thanks for posting up!
