One Famous Pig
If you haven’t already met our Piggy Lou Harris, you can read about her here. But now she’s famous! Fabulous local artist Susan Medaris, who is a resident of Blanchardville, but is most well-known in Madison, has released an etching of Piggy Lou with her borrowed boyfriend, Kong. They are part of an upcoming exhibit Susie is preparing, called “The Whole Hog.” It will open at the Madison Public Library October 3. Don’t miss it! Susie is fantastic, and has been lauded for her two cows in the Madison Cow Parade in addition to well-loved farm-themed series featuring chickens and dogs. Oops! I thought it would be obvious. She’s the pretty white one. Kong, by the way, is a very unusual heritage breed called a Mulefoot. His feet have no split down the middle like most hooves. He really looks like he’s wearing high heels! Maybe that’s why you might not have known who was the girl…
