First Day of Spring 2008
Happy Spring! We’ve got sunny skies and muddy paths outside here at Circle M, while inside stretchy sprouts long for the light of the front yard cold frames. But check out the forecast for tonight:
SEVERE WEATHER ALERT FOR BLANCHARDVILLE, WI
A WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING.
A WINTER STORM SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO PRODUCE FROM 5 TO 9 INCHES OF SNOW ACCUMULATION BEGINNING AROUND MIDNIGHT TONIGHT AND CONTINUING THROUGH MUCH OF THE DAY FRIDAY. THE HEAVIEST ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE NEAR THE ILLINOIS BORDER.
That’s us! Hard to believe. And it won’t end any time soon – we’ve got snow in the forecast for the rest of the month. So we’ll probably be nurturing along our inch-tall onions, leeks, shallots, broccoli, brussells sprouts, cabbage and romaines for a few weeks more in the house. Maybe I’ll get around to putting away my Christmas decorations before garden work starts after all…
