One More Day to Craft Away!

My piles of wool are slowly but surely shrinking while piles of pretty flowers are taking their place. I made another 15 pins today (and sold 7!) and a few Flower Fairy Garlands. Tonight I’ll finish up the needle-felting and clean my workspace up to re-make it for wet felting tomorrow.

These little flowers strung along dyed silk ribbon make great decorations for girls’ rooms or for creative Christmas trees.

These pins are needle-felted onto a recycled sweater base and embellished with vintage sequins, seed pearls, Austrian crystals and antique silk embroidery floss. I’ve had fun making them!

In addition to wet-felting jewelry tomorrow, I’ll also be drawing illustrations for my kit instructions and rubber-stamping business cards and brochures. I’ll get tags on everything and pull together my display pieces. Thank goodness for coffee!

Seriously, Kriss, when do you sleep?

I’ve been reading ‘The Onmivore’s Dilemma’ by Michael Pollan. I’m taken by the circular cause/effect/feed/eat relationships of the grass farms and think of you and your adventures at every chapter. Have you encountered this book yet?

Darel and I wished we lived closer to you to really experience all that you are doing!

LOVE the book, and the new one – In Defense of Food. Pollan also wrote a kick-butt “Letter to the Farmer-In-Chief” in the NY Times Sunday Magazine before the election laying out his recommendations for agricultural policy in the near future. I hope Obama reads it.

Speaking of LOVE – your Christmas card arrived this morning and you guys are so adorable as a family. Thanks for checking in.
