Turkey Disaster
Things are not going well with the little turkeys. Four have died so far. I’m trying to get some help from the hatchery I ordered them from at this point.
In spite of the more temperate weather, and the fact that it’s quite easy to keep the indoor brooder at 90 degrees, these turkeys seem determined to die! The ones that are well seem really well, but then a few show up each morning looking droopy and finally give up after a day or so. At $9 a poult, this is a tough loss to swallow and we hope to get some compensation. Unfortunately, most of these birds are pre-ordered for turkey dinners, so just getting our money back won’t make everything better.
