About our CSA

Got Veggies? WE DO! And we want to share them with you!

Circle M is a small local farm providing CSA produce by subscription.
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) means you buy a share in the homestead then we deliver a generous box of fresh, delicious, heirloom vegetables every other week June thru October. We’ll also deliver our Homestead Meats, Super-Soft Wool and Pastured Eggs by order in season. As a vital part of the farm community, you’ll receive periodic invitations to festivals, work days, classes and potlucks here among the pastures, paddocks, ponds and gardens.

Why CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is an opportunity for you to connect directly to the farm where your food is grown. Your contribution funds the health of the land, enabling the farmers to carefully tend the homestead and all that live there, both plants and animals. A CSA share provides you with a steady supply of healthy, organically-grown produce that’s been minimally handled and only briefly shipped, enabling you to eat fresh, seasonal, gourmet food for well below grocery-store organic prices. You are also privy to the life of the farm, invited to schedule private visits and get to know the land and livestock.

Why Circle M?
Every CSA farm is different and offers a unique experience to members. We think one of the most joyous aspects of Circle M is that we’re based on a sustainable small homestead model in which animals, pastures and row crops live in a continuous circle of nurture. Each aspect of the farm has a specific purpose in the circle. That means farm visits are a vibrant circus of sheep, cows, pigs, goats, horses, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, geese and turkeys. It also means you can order Circle M Homestead Meats, Maidmarion Cottage Industry Eggs or wool products to come with your delivery! You’ll also get a discount on wellness and woolcraft workshops held at the farm. Because Circle M is such an utter delight for us, we think it’s a community you’ll want to be a part of, too.

Children especially appreciate the interaction with animals – particularly in spring when the babies are born! And as a former homeschooling family, we certainly appreciate children taking advantage of their visits to the farm by exploring, learning and asking lots of questions. Members also get to use our canoes and camp on the farm for free. You can join the adventure every day by visiting the blog at circlemfarm.com or clicking “like” at our facebook page.

What’s in the Box?
We offer every-other-week boxes designed for a four-person home. The size is just over 2 cubic feet. By customer request, we also offer a Shortie Share, which is a bit more than half the full size. Contents vary according to season, but we start with potted herbs, lettuce, spinach, arugula, Asian greens, radish, pea shoots, snap peas, then add turnips , carrots, pak choi and kale; progress through beets, beans, kohlrabi, cabbage, cucumbers, summer squash, corn, eggplant, garlic, fennel, tomatoes, peppers and melons; and finish with potatoes, edemame, okra, leeks, onions, hard squash, pumpkins and parsnips! We include lots of recipes, nutritional info, and a bouquet in every box when we’ve got flowers.

When Do We Begin?
Deliveries come to Fitchburg, the West Side and Downtown Madison, Mineral Point and Dodgeville on Thursday evenings June through October. Farm Pickup is Friday night and Saturday. New Glarus delivery is Saturday morning. The season will kick off with a Lambs and Lettuces Festival on June 2 and finish with a Homestead Harvest Day at the farm on October 13.
