Piglets At Last!
The piglets have finally arrived, all 14 of them. No wonder Pigabella took so long! Maybe they were all tangled up in there and had to sort themselves out. After the hours-long delivery concluded last night around 10pm, we ended up with 11 alive. One was born dead and two got smothered the first time Pigabella tried to turn over in the nest with the new babies. She got better at maneouvering with them as the night wore on. More to come on the quite stressful evening which, as so many things do on this farm, raised more questions for us than it answered. Look for live birth videos in the next few days!

This is Brindle, piglet number 6, minutes after being born.

Congratulations on so many piglets! And such interesting colorings! Easier to keep track of who is who!
I am still awaiting piglets (DeeDee). And Dayspring is a few weeks away.
