Herbs Class Today!

Looks like the weather is going to be beautiful for today’s Intro To Medicinal Herbs class here at the farm. If you live in the area and find you have this evening free, come out and join us for a little foraging and some fun in the kitchen. Of course, we’ll visit the lambs first. Here’s some more info –
My good friend Nicole Klinge, an artist and herbalist who lives in Madison and works at several local farms (ours included), is going to present an Intro To Medicinal Herbs class from 6 to 9 pm. Nicole is one of the most accomplished foragers I know, and has taught me a ton about how the plants in my woods and garden can be used to support health and also to target specific issues. She got me going on Nettle Tea for lustrous hair and you should see hers! For the class, she’ll take us out around the hedgerows to find plants, weather permitting, but we’ll also do some work in the kitchen, making a tincture and tea. She’ll also cover the basics of herbalism, local medicinal weeds, basic preparation techniques. Among the herbs discussed will be echinacea, dandelion, goldenseal and stinging nettle.
