CSA WorkShare Contract
-Workers need to be able to perform hard physical work for extended periods of time (lifting, bending, sitting, squatting, standing, carrying, pulling, etc.).
-Workers will participate in a variety of tasks based on experience and ability, including, but not limited to: composting, shoveling, weeding, hoeing, thinning crops, planting, harvesting, washing produce, dividing shares, packaging produce, grooming and moving animals, training animals, milking goats, collecting eggs.
-There will be days when the weather is undesirable for working outside or when walking on the gardens could harm the soil structure. In the event of especially inclement weather, work will be rescheduled as necessary.
-Work will be performed at Circle M Market Farm in Blanchardville, WI, unless some other arrangement for in-kind service has been made.
-Children are welcome and encouraged to visit; however, please realize there are inherent risks associated with children playing unsupervised on a farm. For this reason, if you plan to bring your children with you to the farm while you are fulfilling your WorkShare commitment, please have an additional responsible person with you to watch your children. If you wish, you can purchase childcare services from a Circle M teen intern for $7.50 per hour, but it must be scheduled a week in advance.
-The standard of trade for a share of produce is 40 hours of labor per Full Share and 25 hours per Shortie Share throughout the farm season (approximately May through November). You are welcome to work your hours in larger increments, and to bring an approved friend or spouse along to fulfill some of your hours. If for some reason you are unable to fulfill your contract, you can pay the remainder of your commitment in cash.
-Please understand that hours begin after sunscreen is applied, water bottles are filled and other equipment and toilet preparations are completed.
-WorkShare hours must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance.
-WorkShare Members are entitled to trade additional work for meat, eggs and woolcraft classes, at a rate of $10/hour.
-If you have any limitations, circumstances, or other factors which may have an effect on your ability or availability to fulfill your workshare commitment, PLEASE EXPLAIN IN DETAIL ON THE REVERSE SIDE OF THIS PAGE.
I understand and accept these conditions.
