What is Garden Pork? Tender, delicious, all-natural, chemical-free cuts from porkers raised in a garden! That’s right – our pigs live in our gardens. Each year we take a garden out of the planting rotation and let the pigs eat the weeds, seeds, left-over crops and all the vegetable waste we throw in from the plots next door. They also get locally-grown hay and grains to nibble. We get a perfectly fluffy, fertilized and tilled-up garden ready to go the next year. You get an amazing fresh-air pork dining experience. You’ll be surprised at the difference in flavor and texture when contented hogs are raised on growing earth and given a varied diet. Our hogs are lovely heritage Berkshires, prized by chefs for their lean meat and by sustainable farmers for their ability to forage. We love them most for the amazing bacon – perfectly marbled!
